Our Story

Locally Made, Globally Grown is an education-based consultant company which affirms the intrinsic value in each and every person and the significance each individual can contribute to the world.  Our work shifts the lens from at-risk to at-promise. This mindset shift expands opportunities for dialogue, understanding, growth, and improvement.

We recognize that the demographics are not changing, they have changed. More importantly, we affirm that changed demographics means there is a plethora of cultures, languages, and experiences to enrich our everyday practices in education and policy.

With this responsibility in mind, Locally Made, Globally Grown goes beyond culturally responsive offerings and extends opportunities for organizations to create cultural affluence through an at-promise lens, which drives our mission and vision.  This means that culturally responsive practices are not an “add-on” to the main or “dominant” landscape, instead a cultural, asset-based lens drives the development of policies, practices, and success measures.

Locally Made, Globally Grown partners with organizations to develop strategic steps that support their goals by becoming:

  • Forward Going: After we become forward thinkers, what is next? A forward going organization take the steps to create the changes needed to achieve an educational experience which holistically values and integrates global perspectives and events from an at-promise lens; and

  • Culturally Affluent: Organizations harness the power and energy of diversity to create systems that achieve measurable outcomes based on global standards.

I can say as both a parent and a staff member (as well as a proud Puerto Rican myself), your presentation was amazing! Very interactive and thoughtful.
